How to tie a Palomar knot
The strongest easy knot for tying line to a hook or lure — works with braid, mono and fluorocarbon.
Step 1 of 4
- Double 6 inches of line and pass the loop through the eye of the hook or lure.
- Tie a loose overhand knot with the doubled line, keeping the hook hanging in the center.
- Pass the hook completely through the open loop of doubled line.
- Moisten the knot with water or saliva, pull both ends evenly to cinch tight, and trim the tag to 1/8 inch.
