How this tool works

Each hour gets an activity value from solunar periods (moon overhead or underfoot = major, moonrise and moonset = minor) and sunrise and sunset. The daily score (0–10) comes from those two inputs only. Pressure and wind are not scored yet: the National Weather Service feed that supplies them is not connected, so every score uses a neutral pressure, no wind input, and the result marks both as not tracked. Evidence for solunar theory is mixed, so we show the inputs, not just a number. Full methodology.

FAQ

What is the best time of day to fish?

Usually the hour around sunrise and sunset, especially when a solunar major period overlaps. The forecast highlights those windows.

Does barometric pressure affect fishing?

Many anglers see better fishing on stable or slowly falling pressure and a slower bite after a sharp rise behind a cold front. The forecast does not score pressure yet.
