How this tool works

High and low tide predictions come from NOAA's CO-OPS service for each station, refreshed daily. Inshore species usually feed hardest when water is moving, so the windows around mid-tide (half way between a high and a low) are marked. Predictions are astronomical: strong wind and river flow shift real water levels.

FAQ

What is the best tide for fishing?

Moving water: the last two hours of an incoming tide and the first hours of the outgoing are classic inshore windows. Slack water at the turn is usually slowest.
